Learn skills and build character while staying active, having fun, and making friends! Our programs progress with your needs and abilities, from introductory to competitive.

Boys & girls | Ages 4-12 | All YMCA locations

Fall & Winter Leagues feature:

  • 8 games per season
  • Volunteer coaches
  • Focus on fundamentals and new skill development
  • All players play a minimum 1/2 of each game

  • Competitive sports experience with 8 games and pre/post tournaments
  • Certified referees
  • Sportsmanship & YMCA core values strictly enforced
  • Equal playing time encouraged
  • Teams formed by coaches. Free agents will be placed pending availability.
  • Game scores and team standings maintained

Competitive & recreational leagues feature:

  • Teams/players divided by skill level (C - No skill req'd. Play, learn & have fun! B - Competitive former high school players. A - Highly competitive former pro or college players.)
  • 8 games per season
  • Sportsmanship & YMCA core values are strictly enforced
  • Teams formed by team captains. Free agents will be placed pending availability.
  • Certified referees

Boys and Girls Ages 8-14

Give your athlete the opportunity for a more intensive practice with professional instruction to improve their league play and skills. Players are grouped according to skill level and taught by professional basketball coaches.

Focusing on skill development, sport-specific academies are seasonal and feature:
  • 8 week sessions
  • Meet 2 times/week (Tuesdays and Thursdays)
  • 6:00-7:30pm for ages 8-14
  • 45 minutes of clinic-style instruction
  • 45 minutes of scrimmages
  • Players are grouped according to skill level.
  • Taught by professional basketball coaches.
  • Offered in the fall, winter, spring, and summer at YMCA Farha Sport Center - Indoor Courts.

Boys & Girls | Ages 6-12 | Andover, East, and North YMCAs

Clinics give athletes the opportunity to focus on improving their skills and the fundamentals of the game. Players are grouped according to skill level.

  • Meets 4 consecutive days for 2 hours
  • Opportunity to improve your game in a fun setting with a focus on fundamentals and overall game knowledge

Boys & girls | Ages 8-16 | YMCA Farha Sport Center -Indoor Courts

Whether you’re new to a sport or an elite athlete, it’s important to focus on mastering the fundamental skills. Academies give athletes the opportunity for a more intensive practice with professional instruction to improve their league play and progress their skills. Players are grouped according to skill level and taught by professional coaches.

  • Meets every day for 5 days
  • Recieve clinic-style instruction & scrimmages
  • Focus on fundamentals and new skill development
  • All academies offered June 1 - July 17

YMCA adaptive programs serve kids and adults with special needs. Our Special Olympics basketball team offers participants the opportunity to focus on skill development or enjoy a more competitive experience.
