A day camp held at the Andover and South YMCA Farha Sport Centers. Sports clinics will be in the mornings taught by student athletes and/or coaches from Friends University (South YMCA) and Butler Community College (Andover YMCA). Afternoon activities led by counselors include games, crafts, and team building. Must bring lunch/water bottle and swimsuit daily. Fridays will have intramural competitions between the camps.
Our youth sports camp, focuses on campers developing a better understanding and appreciation for each sports through a combination of drills and games where campers will gain a foundation that will lay a groundwork for future sport interests.

- Session 2 | May 28 - May 31 | Sports Sampler

An introductory week to sports and the YMCA camp staff will lead this week in sampling different sports, including: kickball, ultimate frisbee, waffleball, dodgeball, team relay, flag football and more.

Learn basic soccer fundamentals on drills and skills with practices and scrimmages. Instruction provided by Friends University and Butler Community College.

Develop basic track and field fundamental skills with YMCA staff instructors working with children to develop basic knowledge of long jump, triple jump, shot put, sprinting and long distance running to compete in the YMCA Olympics track meet. Kids will take a field trip yet to be announced.

Learn the basic fundamental skills for basketball success. Dribbling, ball handling, passing, shooting and teamwork filled with dills/scrimmages. Instructions proved by Friends University and Butler Community College.

Learn fundamental skills to punt, pass and kick your way to fun. Lear how to throw, pas and catch through drills and scrimmages followed by the Y Big Game held at the South YMCA Turf Fields on Friday, 6/30. Cheer groups will learn cheers and yells from YMCA staff and practice routines to perform at the game. Parents are welcome to attend and tailgate afterwards. Instruction provided by Friends University and Butler Community College.

Take me out to the ballgame. Learn fundamentals of baseball from fielding ground balls, bunting and hitting. At the end of the week, opposing camps will play a World Series. Make sure to bring your glove! Instruction provided by Friends University and Butler Community College.
