Austin Peterson

The East YMCA provides a place where caring adults can invest in the next generation, and Volunteer Coach Austin Peterson has embraced that opportunity wholeheartedly. 

Through youth sports, he is able to teach more than the fundamentals of the game. He helps young athletes build confidence, learn teamwork, overcome challenges and develop important life skills that will benefit them far beyond sports.

Whether he's encouraging a child to keep trying after a mistake, celebrating a personal achievement or teaching the value of good sportsmanship, Coach Austin creates an environment where every player feels supported and valued.  

The impact of his leadership has not gone unnoticed. His nomination for the YMCA’s recent Coach of the Year award reflects the difference he makes in the lives of countless young people and families throughout our community.
