Morgann Herrington, who works in the Greater Wichita YMCA’s Child Care branch, didn’t just need a place to work out — she needed support, encouragement, and a community to help her believe she could do hard things. Before be at the YMCA, fitness felt intimidating and overwhelming, and she often doubted what she was capable of.
Through the YMCA and YROX training and fitness race, she trained and competed with a team that encouraged each other and showed up for one another every step of the way. They finished stronger than they started and along the way built confidence, connection, and a support system that extended far beyond the competition itself.
“The most meaningful part of YROX wasn’t just finishing the race — it was the relationships I built along the way,” she said. “I am truly thankful that the support and encouragement I found through the YMCA didn’t stop at the gym. It became a true community that continues to show up for each other in everyday life. ”
