When I went to Curtis Middle School, I remember looking forward to the Middle School After School program where I could choose to participate in an activity that fit my interests. One activity I remember choosing involved home economics. It was something to look forward to, where I didn’t have to go home alone with my siblings.
Years later, I found that this program is one of many programs the Greater Wichita YMCA is responsible for putting together! I am thankful for that program and thankful for the Y.
Now years later, with her beautiful family, I have come full circle by choosing to volunteer my time serving on the South YMCA’s Advisory Board.
