Pumpkin Pie Dip with a side of pretzels

It only takes a few minutes to make and enjoy a delicious PUMPKIN PIE DIP that makes a great snack or dessert year-round. 

This week Tammi Krier, our Healthy Eating Director, takes you through an easy, affordable, delicious, kid-friendly recipe for PUMPKIN PIE DIP - a snack or dessert that can be made in minutes using common ingredients and pumpkin, something most of us only eat in the fall.

INGREDIENTS (Serves Three)

  • 1/3 cup pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
  • 1/4 cup (softened) reduced-fat or fat-free plain cream cheese
  • 2 teaspoons powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2-3 tablespoons mini chocolate chips Items for dipping/spreading (graham crackers, pretzels, apple slices, etc.)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Combine pumpkin puree, cream cheese, powdered sugar, and cinnamon in a zip-top sandwich bag
  2. Squeeze air out of bag, seal bag, and use fingers to knead bag to mix/smash ingredients together
  3. Carefully cut a very small hole in a lower corner of the still-sealed bag
  4. Squeezing from the back, gently ‘pipe’ the crème dip onto dipping/spreading items.
  5. Decorate with mini chocolate chips.
  6. Eat as a snack or dessert.
