I was diagnosed with breast cancer in April 2006. Since then, I’ve been through a lumpectomy, chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Following my surgery, I developed lymphedema in my right arm, which required me to wear a compression sleeve and glove — something I will need for the rest of my life to manage the swelling.

In 2023, I was fortunate that Medicare began covering the cost of a Bio Compressive System sleeve, which I now use daily for an hour. This has made a significant difference in my quality of life.

Then, in 2025, I received the incredible news from my oncologist, I am officially CANCER FREE.

One of the most meaningful parts of my journey has been participating in the LIVESTRONG at the YMCA program at the West YMCA. It has helped me grow stronger both mentally and physically. The program has provided not just exercise and support, but has building amazing friendships along the way.
