YMCA 360 offers on-demand programs and digital coaching 24/7

WICHITA, Kan. – March 18, 2020 – The Y is launching online exercise classes and youth programs to support the health and well-being of the community. The programs available at ymca360.org include popular group exercise classes like Boot Camp, Barre, Yoga, weightlifting, boxing, Tai Chi and low impact programs. YMCA 360 programs are available on-demand for free. The Y plans to release more exercise classes for adults, spiritual and emotional support videos and programs for kids throughout March and April — including on-demand classes on YMCA 360 and live classes on social media.

“With many people practicing social distancing or impacted by school closures due to the spread of COVID-19, we saw a need for healthy living and youth development programs that could be accessed from anywhere,” said Ronn McMahon, President and CEO for the Greater Wichita YMCA. “Shifting to offer classes online through YMCA 360 felt like the best way to continue to live out our mission to serve all.”

YMCA 360 is designed to help individual exercisers and families engage with the YMCA virtually from the comfort of home. The project is a collaboration between the Greater Wichita YMCA, YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties, YMCA of Greater Houston, YMCA of Greater Charlotte, and YMCA Twin Cities. More than 60 classes are already available, with more to be released in the coming weeks.

“For over a hundred years, the Y has continuously evolved to meet the changing needs of our community,” McMahon said. “We’re excited to offer participants the same high-quality experience they expect from the instructors and classes they know and love at their local Y in a digital format.”
