About Our Speakers
TAKING CARE OF YOURSELF WHILE LIVING WITH CANCER
Karin Denes-Collar, LSCSW, LCSW is the Psychosocial Services Director at the Masonic Cancer Alliance. She has been in practice as a clinical social worker for over 20 years and currently provides tele-psychotherapy to individuals living with cancer. Karin has been teaching resilience skills as a clinician for over 20 years and has offered resilience trainings over the past three years to healthcare professionals and individuals living with cancer.
EMPOWERING CANCER SURVIVORS THROUGH KNOWLEDGE:
CLINICAL TRIALS
Catie Knight, MPH, is a clinical research program manager in the division of medical oncology at the University of Kansas Cancer Center. Catie earned her master's in public health from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. She received training in cancer genetics at the Fox Chase Cancer Center and has held certifications as a clinical research professional and community health education specialist. Catie has over 20 years of invaluable healthcare experience supporting patient care and engaging in research projects that span across the cancer continuum. Her expertise lies within the domains of cancer survivorship and prevention with additional proficiency in cancer risk, health education and literacy, Project ECHO, and practice facilitation.

PALLIATIVE CARE
Carol is a Palliative Care Nurse Case Manager at Ascension Via Christi. She learns what matters most to patients and families and helps them match their preferences to the care they receive.
CHAIR YOGA FOR SURVIVORS
Janice has worked for the Greater Wichita YMCA for 36 years; teaching a variety of fitness classes; including: Cycle, Step, Barre Fusion, Water classes, and Yoga. Yoga being her favorite because it is so beneficial for your physical and mental health. Yoga makes you feel good, increases your flexibility, improves your strength, boost your metabolism, hydrates your spine, and helps you to breathe better.
Janice is also a retired schoolteacher of 34 years and enjoys keeping up with her grandchildren.
