Betty Schwan
Ten years ago, Betty walked into the Andover YMCA after the passing of her husband, looking for a fresh start and a sense of belonging. It was then that she met Ally, a personal trainer who would not only help her improve her fitness, but also become a lasting part of her life.
From the first day she started personal training with Ally, Betty found more than just physical strength. She found support, encouragement and a network of people who truly care about her.
Throughout her years at the Y, Betty has built lasting relationships, both with staff and fellow members. It's more than a gym to her – it's a place of friendship and shared purpose.
Betty’s group training sessions have become a tight-knit community where everyone looks out for each other. They celebrate milestones together, enjoy outings and always have each other’s backs.
Through it all, the smiling faces of the Y staff and the welcoming atmosphere have kept Betty coming back year after year. For Betty, the Y is more than a place to work out, it's a place where she has found strength, joy, and a sense of belonging that has carried her through life’s challenges.
