Chloe
Chloe came to Camp Hiawatha for the first time in the summer of 2025, and to say she was not excited about camp would be an understatement. During her first few days, she made it very clear that she did not want to be there.
However, the staff at Camp Hiawatha saw something special in Chloe and were determined not to let her miss out on the opportunities camp could provide.
With patience, encouragement and support from staff and fellow campers, Chloe decided to give camp a chance. The very next day, she opened up, got involved and embraced everything Camp Hiawatha had to offer. She built friendships, gained confidence and discovered a place where she belonged.
By the end of the summer, Chloe had fallen in love with camp.
Inspired by the impact camp had on her life, Chloe applied to become a Counselor-in-Training (CIT) at Camp Hiawatha for the summer of 2026. Her growth from a hesitant first-time camper to a young leader has been incredible to witness.
Today, Chloe hopes to return to Camp Hiawatha as a staff member in 2027, continuing the cycle of encouragement and support that helped shape her own camp experience.
