Jeran Trotter's came to the YMCA looking for a structured environment for his youth basketball team. He found that and so much more.

He's stayed with the Y because of the organization, support and community. He was struggling to find a place where players could safely compete and where all youth would be accepted, regardless of their personal situations. He learned that at the Y: "No kids are left behind."

Volunteer coaching at the Y, Jeran has seen consistent growth in both himself and in his players. Along the way, he's developed stronger social engagement skills and become more skilled in connecting with others.

The advanced basketball league has provided an organized program that allows Jeran's players to compete at a competitive level.

Throughout his time at the Y, staff have been a great source of support to Jeran and his teams: "Always keeping things in line, always available to answer questions .. .going above and beyond. It's a great structure and organization."
