Catherine Seals, Branch Director, Farha Sports Centers

Catherine graduated in December 2008 from Wichita State University, earning her MA in Sports Administration. Catherine began working for the YMCA in June 2007 as a Site Supervisor at the Farha Sport Center. She joined the West YMCA in November 2009 as the Sports Coordinator, before coming back to work as the Sports Director at the South YMCA & Farha Sport Center in January 2011. In 2014, she transitioned to full time Director of Basketball Operations until May 2018 before accepting the role of Senior Program Director. She remained in that role until January 2021, when she accepted the role of Branch Director at YMCA Farha Sport Center.

Sarah started at the Farha Sports Centers in February 2025. She manages staff onboarding, facility rentals, supporting the Strong Community Campaign, and more. She enjoys working behind the scenes to help bring people together and build community. When she’s not at Farha, Sarah enjoys reading, nature walks, and time with her three cats.

yson joined Farha in April 2025 as the Communication and Support Assistant before taking on the coordinator role in. He played almost every sport growing up but predominantly has played soccer for 20 years. Tyson enjoys facilitating opportunities for adults to have fun and stay active at all ages through sports.

Haley graduated in 2018 from Pittsburg State University with an MS in Sport and Leisure Service Management and brings 7 years of college-level coaching experience to the role. When she isn’t here keeping our programs running smoothly, she’s spending time with her husband and three kids. Haley values the opportunity to make a positive impact on youth and share her love of volleyball with them.

Patrick Gillen, Senior Program Director | Soccer/Rentals/Housekeeping

Patrick joined the Farha Sports Centers as Senior Program Director in November 2025. Soccer has always been a big part of his life – he played as small child through high school, and coached boys’ and girls’ high school soccer, as well as Club Soccer, in Fort Collins, Colorado. Before coaching full-time, Patrick spent 11 years as an Activity Director for a nursing home, where he focused on creating meaningful programs and building strong relationships. Patrick believes sports are a great way to build confidence, teamwork, and important life skills.

Howard Reed, Sports Director | Basketball

Howard serves as Director of Basketball for the Farha Sports Centers, bringing a decade of sports management experience and over 25 years of distinguished service in the U.S. Army. He served as a Regional Sports Director for the Metro Atlanta YMCA before joining the Greater Wichita YMCA in 2025. He holds an M.A. in Sports Management from American Public University and credits the YMCA Leadership Certification as one of his proudest accomplishments. Howard believes the impact of sports extends beyond the court, developing young people into confident leaders and successful citizens.

Sophia started at Farha in August 2025, providing administrative and program support. She has 3+ years of communication and marketing experience, as well as her B.A. in Communications from WSU. Sophia enjoys connecting with people and solving problems. Her favorite way to stay active is strength training and nature walks. She believes sports is an avenue to develop kids into better, stronger people who make our community better and stronger too.

Demitria Heard, Sports Coordinator

Demitria is a Houston, Texas native and started at Farha Sports Centers as a Site Supervisor in May 2025. She moved into the sports coordinator position in November 2025. Demitria is a lover of all things sports and fitness, and her favorite way to stay active is playing basketball and practicing calisthenics. She holds an M.S. in Sports Management from Southwestern College. The community-driven atmosphere is what she finds meaningful about working for the YMCA.
