YMCA Specialty Camps

We offer an exciting twist on traditional camp with our Specialty Camp program. In addition to enjoying all the classic fun and amenities that our traditional campers experience, your child will have the opportunity to participate in exclusive, hands-on activities tailored to their specific camp! Weekly themes of our specialty camps include Outrageous Art, Nerf Warriors, Catch Them All, Lego Builders, Crazy Science and more.

WEEK 1 OPTION - OUTRAGEOUS ART (Ages 6-12)
May 26-29
A colorful week where campers unleash their creativity through wild, wacky, and wonderful art projects. 
Activities: Splatter Painting, Group Mural, Sidewalk Chalk Designs, Nature Art, Recycled Sculptures, Messy Masterpieces 
Goals: Encourage self-expression, teamwork, and confidence through artistic exploration. 
Dress Up Day: Dress like an artist — paint-splattered outfits and berets! 

WEEK 1 OPTION - NERF WARRIORS (Ages 6-12)
May 26-29
An action-packed adventure filled with friendly competition, strategy, and teamwork. 
Activities: Nerf Arena Battles, Target Challenges, Obstacle Courses, Capture the Flag, Battle Strategy Games 
Goals: Build sportsmanship, cooperation, and confidence through active play. 
Dress Up Day: Camo or team colors day! 

WEEK 2 - ART VENTURES (Ages 6-12)
June 1-5
A dynamic week of hands-on fun as campers explore, invent, and create their own adventures with nature through art.
Activities: Outdoor Sketching, Collaborative Canvas, Art Scavenger Hunt, Shadow Drawing, Clay Creations
Goals: Connect nature and creativity while exploring different art forms.
Dress Up Day: Adventurer Artist — safari hats, vests, and sketchpads!

WEEK 2 - LEGO BUILDERS PART 1 (Ages 6-12)
June 1-5
Where imagination comes to life brick by brick! Campers create, engineer, and problem-solve together. 
Activities: Build Challenges, Lego Bridge Contest, and Story Builds, 
Goals: Strengthen creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork through building fun. 
Dress Up Day: Favorite Lego character day 

WEEK 3 - CATCH THEM ALL CAMP (Ages 6-12)
June 8-12
A week inspired by adventure and discovery — where campers “catch” challenges, skills, and fun. 
Activities: Scavenger Hunts, Team Battles, Strategy Games, Element Challenges, Camp Creature Creation 
Goals: Build curiosity, teamwork, and active play through themed adventures 
Dress Up Day: Trainer or Pokémon day.

WEEK 4 - MYTHICAL CREATURES (Ages 6-12)
June 15-19
Step into a world of dragons, unicorns, and legends — where imagination takes flight. 
Activities: Create Your Own Creature, Fantasy Storytelling, Mythical Obstacle Course, Dragon Egg Hunt and make, Costume Parade 
Goals: Encourage storytelling, creativity, and wonder through mythical exploration. 
Dress Up Day: Dragons or Wizards

WEEK 5 - NERF WARRIORS (Ages 6-12)
June 22-26
An action-packed adventure filled with friendly competition, strategy, and teamwork.

A delicious week exploring creativity in the kitchen (without turning it into a mess... too much). 
Activities: No-Bake Treats, Edible Art, Food Challenges, Cupcake Decorating, Fruit Sculptures 
Goals: Learn teamwork, patience, and creativity through hands-on food fun. 
Dress Up Day: Dress as your favorite food! 

WEEK 7 OPTION - CRAZY SCIENCE (Ages 6-12)
July 6-10
An explosive week of experiments, inventions, and out-of-this-world fun! 
Activities: Volcano Eruptions, Slime Labs, Bubble Experiments, Rocket Show and Tell and Launch 
Goals: Spark curiosity, discovery, and excitement through hands-on science. 
Dress Up Day: Mad Scientist Day — goggles, lab coats, and crazy hair! 

WEEK 8 OPTION - ART VENTURES (Ages 6-12)
July 13-17
